Comment:
The bootable floppy i'm using worked fine, but when install asks me what type of media contains the packages to be installed, and since i have the 3 CD's for 7.2 i of course choose local cdrom, it tells me that it can't find it (i tried both disk one and disk two). Thanks for any help, adam

The problem with booting from a floppy is that the cdrom drives are prob not mounted which is why the install can't find them. if you can try mounting the drive before the install "mount /dev/cdroms/cdrom0 /mnt/cdrom' or as has been suggested, boot fro mthe CD instead, any decent distro should be bootable that way.

If you have an IDE cdrom use the image called boot.img. If you have a scsi cdrom try the other floppy images.
There is no reason to mount the cdroms when doing an install. The cdroms are automatically mounted when needed.
