Hi.

How can I reduce the size of a volume group??
I installed fedora4 on a new HD and told it to use the whole HD as its volume group, but I want half of the HD to be used as aditional storage space for windows. None of my partition programs can make a new fat32 partirion since linux uses the new HD as its volume group. Also I chose Linux only to use half of the HD as a logical volume so the rest of it is unused, this unused half I whish to turn into a windows partition.

Hope you understood my problem eaven if the description might be a bit wierd since im so new to Linux (-:

Thanks in advance!!

So you have win and Linux installed on your system? Right? First thing you should do is to find Partition Magic and resize Linux partition to the desired size. What remains is unused HD space which you can format as fat32.And there you go!
I hope that I understood your problem correctly!

Why shell out for a third party application when you already have all the tools you need installed, eg parted. I haven't used redhat/fedora for ages but I'm sure there is a fedora gui front-end for it like qtparted.
