removing lilo

I have finally gotten linux installed and set up to use the windows bootloader. the only problem is that when linux is selected from the windows bootloader it loads to lilo instead of loading directly to linux. Am i going to have to reinstall to fix this (that is to get a bootsector.lnx withouth lilo?) oh and if it matters linux and windows xp are on different hardrives.
