Help! Please!
I have just formatted my linux and windows partitions using partition magic (I have found out this was a bad idea).
Now when I reboot Grub still comes up. I need to remove Grub. I have all FAT32 partitions and I want to setup only windows OSes.
However, i cannot use a boot disk or boot to the WinXP or Win98 CDs to access fdisk /mbr or the recovery console! I seem only to be able to boot to my linux cd - not the floppy. I have been into the BIOS settings too, floppy and CD are set to boot before the HDD.
Perhaps I am missing something obvious. I am in real trouble. TIA.

If you can only boot off your linux CD, I
would say that there is a problem with your
WinXP CD and windoze boot floppy....see if
you can get a mate to do you another floppy
from win9x so you can fdisk /mbr.
Does it even attempt to boot from floppy? If
you put in a non-bootable floppy....does it
come back with an error?
If you can successfully boot into a windoze
setup, it should overwrite your grub
bootloader anyway.

See the other message on Remove LILO topic :)
Insert your Linux CD, goto shell console and type:.. This will clear the MBR for good
#dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/hda bs=512 count=1
p/s:be carefull...
