I downloaded RedHat two main iso images to try out. I made some modification to the first one (just added some extra files to the image)then burnt onto CDs. It's still bootable and runs fine until setup tried to find the redhat cd for installation. The CD was in the drive but it couldn't find it. I reckon it must be some kind of signature or checksum that got changed when i added the extra files. Now i can't do anything with the iso images, does anyone has a suggestion. Thank you very much for your help

do you mean that the installation program said that it couldn't find the cd? maybe it can't detect your cdrom drive. Use a generic cdrom driver

i don't think it's hardware detection problem cause i have tried to xtract the cd -> iso images with the correct naming and everything onto the hd then choose hd source and it still doesn't work (even though i choose the correct partition and put the iso right in the root directory). I have tried this with RH7.1 and it works ... anyway i'm redownloading the iso :/. thanks

To help you out man, I believe you did not burn the iso image right. happened to me before. Try using nero burning rom. http://www.nero.com/en/download.htm/html one of those. download it, install it, then use that to burn your iso. works like a charm :)

I agree with Dixon, Nero is one of the best ways to burn iso images, and I've tried many.
