Redhat host login and password

After success installation of my linux redhat 7.1, i reboot my system for my new os to intialise and i face one problem. Redhat asked me to enter the local host login and password which i cannot proceed any further?Please help me to solve!

You had to specify a password for the user 'root' when you installed. If you forgot what that password is, you will have to re-install. It is important to remember.

Yeah, and you probably set up a normal user during install. You can use that too, if you set it up. If not, use root.

you don't have to reinstall to change the root password when starting linux with lilo use enter linux single it should drop you into single user mode and directly to a bash prompt type passwd and type in your new root password
hi, I learnt after searching that even if i forget my root password, i can login in single user mode and change it.( i have redhat 7.1)
But, i face a problem in logging in as single user. When i type in "linux single" , system displays error message saying that the disk is not bootable.
