Hello All,
Any input would be grealy appreciated. I am trying to add a Redhat 9.0 workstation to a Windows 2000 server domain. I downloaded Samba and did the following: From \root\Samba2.0\source I ran the "./configure" . Then I ran the "make" command, then I ran the "make install" command, Then I ran the "installbin" and "intsallconf" commands. Everything executed beautifuly and Samba was installed on my Linux box. I am trying to add it to my Windows 2000 domain. I am having some difficultied creating the smb.conf file. I am under the impression that the smb.conf file is not cretaed during the Samba installation. How and where should i create the file. i want to be able to browse the Linux box from my Windows 2000 server machine. THANKS!!

Use one of those to help setup Samba. Its easier than going though the text file.
SWAT and Webmin are very good tools. Webmin lets you change everything the server can do from Samba to Apache webserver. SWAT I think is just for Samba. There are a bunch of others but those are the best.
If you are going to do more than just run samba, use Webmin.
