Ok I will start off by saying that I am pretty new to linux.. so bear w/ me :)

#1: I am setting up this Linux server as a full webserver and an FTP server. For the FTP I am useing VSFTP (comes w/ Redhat 9) I have got all the basics.. Editing the vsftpd.config and /etc/init.d/vsftp {start|restart|stop}, all that good stuff. I also learned that for users / permissions you simply create new users on the local computer and thats what they login w/.. now here's my prob... I added a user and set his permissions w/ Hat/System Settings/Users and Groups, and I can logon remotely, but it allows the user to view ALL directorys on the computer, it only allows write to the assigned, but he can view ALL.. obviously this is not good, I couldnt seem to find where to make that home dir appear as the root dir on his ftp client (if you get what i mean).. so basically thats the first Q, how do I setup his home dir as his TRUE home dir and keep him from viewing the whole computer...

#2: I have been running my FTP/webserver in Windows 98, due to request I am ugraded it to this Redhat 9.0.. Since I am hosting many forums I need to tranfer my databases to the linux server, but I cant seem to find where they go on the linux server and what all I need to get off the Windows server.. also what is the best thing I could use to edit/create my databases in Linux? (PHP My Admin?)

thank you very much in advance!

JH
