I am currently running RedHat 9 on my laptop and Windows XP on my desktop. The laptop has a DVD-ROM drive and the desktop has a DVD burner.
My goal is to make a bootable RedHat 9 install DVD disc containing the 3 install discs, the 3 SRPM discs, and the docs disc. My problem lies in the fact that the automatic media check during the booted installation process can't find the disc checksum.
I followed the instructions located at the following link, with a few modifications. I followed the media checksum implant instructions precisely.

After successfully creating the ISO, I copied it to my desktop and burned it with Nero Burning ROM. I chose "Finalize Disc" and all other options were unchangeable. I booted from it and tried running the mediacheck but I get an error saying that the disc checksum cannot be found.
Next, I tried a different version of implantisomd5 that I compiled using the files from the following site.
http://svn.rocklinux-consulting.de/rock-linux/trunk/misc/isomd5sum/
The implant process succeeded, but the error persisted. I realize that I don't need to do the checksum for the disc to work, but I would prefer to have it available. I verified that the ISO image is writable before attempting the implant. Also, I verified the MD5 checksum of the ISO to be sure it copied to my Windows XP box properly.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why the disc checksum isn't being recognized? I'm at my wits end, as it were. : (
