hey guys i recently got a 2nd box from a friend who didnt need it anymore its a pII 400 Mhz with 128 mb sdram and well i tried to install redhat 8.0 on it after i formatter the drive, and when i try to boot with the redhat install cd 1, it gives me this error and then stops
booting from atapi cd-rom
isolinux 1.75 2002-06-14 isolinux: failed to get sector size, assuming 0800
isolinux Di0142CD9Fso i tried booting with the windows 200 server install cd and it gave me this error
CDBOOT: Cannot boot from CD - Code: 5
so i thought it was coz my cd rom drive was outdated so i put in my new cdrom drive from my other comp in the old one and it still gave me the same error but when i tried the discs on my other comp, they run fine. if anyone knows how i could get around this, plz let me know, i would greatly appreciate it.

on the first CD of redhat I think there's a util that let's you make a bootable FLOPPY.
Make the bootable FLOPPY using a computer that works. Boot the FLOPPY and put the cd in the CDROM drive. Once linux is loaded from the FLOPPY I think it'll control the CDROM drive corectly enough to install linux.
As for your problem booting cdroms make sure:- BIOS is up to date
- BIOS is configured correctly
- Connections and jumpers are ok (master
at the end of IDE cable, slave in the
middle)

thx a lot dude it worked, well its at like 50 % install right now
thx again, do u think u might have the time for a few more problems that i will most definitely run into?
