Hello every1!!
OK...2day I was updating my Linux with the Red Hat Update Agent...I went 2 the kitchen...when I came back, it was frozen!! :@
So I started clicking desperately...then I minimized the window, then when it came back up, it was all messed up!! and my hard drive light wasnt blinking!! :@
OK...I closed it and restarted...when I came back 2 try again...it said something about a package conflict...then I unselected that package, then the same error with another package...then again..this is the 3rd:Test install failed because of package conflicts:
file /usr/lib/pkgconfig/mozilla-gtkmozembed.pc from install mozilla-devel-1.4.2-0.9.0 conflicts with file from package mozilla-nspr-devel-1.2.1-26and it has an OK button, I click it and I'm back 2 select the packages...:(
Is there any way 2 fix this??
Thanx!! ;)El-Trucha

Don't waste anymore time on it (the update agent.) RedHat discontinued support for version 9.0 months ago. I'm sure that is why the update agent is not working properly. RedHat now only supports automatic updating on their commercial products (mainly RedHat Enterprise 3.0)

No...
I updated my Linux with that Update Agent last friday I think...and it didnt have any problems...
The problem is kuz I cancelled it while it was updating kuz it froze!!
I didnt have any problems the 1st time...
Thanx!! ;)El-Trucha

I don't use redhat but would suggest using either apt-get or yum to update/install packages. You can find both here:
http://apt.freshrpms.net/

Umm...when I try 1 install apt-get, the package installer just exits out...:(
And when I try "rpm -i <name_of_package>" it says this:warning: apt-0.5.5cnc6-fr1.i386.rpm: V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID e42d547b
Segmentation faultWhat's wrong with it??
Thanx!! ;)El-Trucha

"...Segmentation fault..."
That's a bit like a runtime error in windoze. Have you been able to install other RPM packages in the past? It sounds as though the partial update has really screwed your system. You could try a reinstall over-the-top as you would do with windoze every now and again to try and fix things. I've done that before when I accidently updated a K6II slackware system with i686 binaries....a reinstall over the top and providing that you choose not to format any of the partitions you should keep all your settings etc.

I already formatted because the partition was too small and I couldn't resize it with Partition Magic...:@
But anyway...I installed many packages before this...
Umm...what's the i386, i686, etc all about??
Is that your platform?? like...if I install a i386 package on my Athlon XP...will it harm my machine???
Thanx!! ;)El-Trucha

386 == i386
486 == i486
Pentium / Pentium-MMX / AMD K6 == i586
Pentium 2/3/4 Athlon-XP/MP/ Duron / Athlon /Sempron == i686
Athlon64 / Intel EMT64 Chips == x86-64They should all be backwards compatible so installing an i386 on an Athlon will work.

Thanx 4 the list!! ;)
