I just buit a PC that has an Athlon 1.4 Ghz CPU 2 Western Digital 7200 RPM ATA100 40 gig HD's, 512 MB DDR RAM, and an AMI MegaTrends IDE 100 RAID controller. I think the RAID controller is setup correctly, but when I boot it stalls on "Scanning for Primary Master",if I restart a couple of times, it will finally try to boot. Now the Linux questions, I installed Red Hat 7.2 on the PC (I set it up as a server), and I chose GRUB as my boolt loader. The problem is the system hangs when it states GRUB on the screen, as if it is trying to load, but it can't. Which boot loader should I use GRUB, or LILO, which is better? what is the difference? Thank you for your time, it is really appreciated. By the way I was wanting to setup a mirror RAID with Red Hat, I saw an option for it during installation, at the partition section, but I wasn't sure how to set it up.
