I am having a problem installing Red Hat 8.0 on my Intel VX chipset motherboard and 200Mhz Pentium MMX CPU. I have a S3 Virge DX video card with 4M of RAM, a Realtek chipset Ethernet PCI card, and 32X IDE CD-ROM and 6G IDE hard drive.

I either get a fatal error or abnormal error while trying to install it after detecting the graphic card and monitor. Or it tells me that there is an error with the media, or hardware, or out of hard drive space. Now the hardware runs Windows 98 and NT 4.0 really well, so I can rule out the hardware problems, and the install does not get past the first CD-ROM, so it is not out of hard drive space, it also passed the media check before the install. So what could it be? I want to run Red Hat 8.0 on this system as I cannot afford to buy a different one.

You might want to compare the MD5 sum of the CD against what RedHat says it should be...If they are different then you got a bad download. That could be one reason its not working.
