Is there a site that will explain to me what the differences between these distros.

I have a program that works well in Red Hat 7.2 distro but I've been told it may not work in 9.0 distro or later distros. My question - why not?

What is so different between these distros? Is there anywhere on the net that tells me what the differences between the kernel of 7.2 and 9.0, which may explain why the program may not run?

......TIA

It may very well be that there are some older "libraries" that are required (the newer ones do not work) or, it could rely on some "libraries" that were included with 7.2 but for various versions were not included with 9.0.
