OS: Linux Red Hat 7.1
CPU/Ram: Intel P4 2.4GHz/256MB DDR
Comment:

I cannot set up the X Window in Red Hat 7.1. Can you please help?

My configurations are as follows:
CPU: P4 2.4GHz
RAM: 128MB DDR333
Mainboard: Magic Pro P4-E-Ultra
Display card: Nvidia Geforce4 MX440 with 128MB RAM
Monitor: Topcon LCD 15 Cutie (LM1570A)

Even after I set up the horizontal (31-61 KHz) and vertical frequency (55-76 Hz) correctly according to the manual of the monitor, the X Window still cannot be started. Do I need to download any LCD driver for Red Hat?

Thanks a lot.

the gf4 doesnt work with the default nv drivers provided by xfree86.

go to nvidia.com and download and install the nvidia drivers according to the readme (its a very nice and detailled howto).

Thanks. But even if I do not use gf4, I still cannot setup my X Window. Any idea? Does Red Hat 7.1 actually support LCD?
