Read-only NTFS Mount fails

RedHat Linux release 7.1

mount -r -t ntfs /dev/hda1 /mnt/win2k

Raises the following error:

mount:fs type ntfs not supported by kernal

You probably need to recompile your kernel and enable ntfs file systems. I just set mine up to do that and it works just fine since I recompiled my kernel.
