I'm travelling in Europe, and couldn't plug in my ac/dc adapter for my laptop. I borrowed someone else's, and plugged in my computer. Halfway through the boot, my computer shut off. I checked the adapter and it puts out 6 A, while mine puts out 2 A. Now my computer won't boot...it shuts off near the begining of the boot. Did I just destroy all my transistors?

The A rating (current) is just the maximum current it can supply but it will only supply the current the device requires. Sorry thats not a very good description, but basically if your laptop only draws 2A then it will only get 2A supplied to it.
Did you check the voltage rating and the polarity ? Thats much more likely to cause damage.
The laptop probably has some internal protection to limit the damage, possibly something as simple as a fuse. Contact the makers and see what they say.
