1---Fixed Size 2---Fill all space upto (MB) 3---Fill to maximum allowable size
Plz guide me about it that in which situation we use these options.
Also plz guide me taht can u do RAID5 \&| Mirring in IDE . I have 4 IDE of 40 GB . Thanks.

as i said in a previous post- I'm no linux guru, but as i have done a couple of installs.
You have to have your 3 basic partitions: 1: Swap partition 2: / partition 3: /boot partition
The boot partition does not need to be more than 25mb, and i prefer to use double my ram size for my swap partition. The / partition can be made to fill the remainder of your drive's space. Make your swap and /boot partitions to be "fixed size" and make the / partition to be "Fill to maximum allowable size"
As far as RAID is concerned- i too couldnt master it

newer versions of redhat or mandrake should have software raid options when formating.
if you have a newer MB you will also ahve a hardware raid option in the bios

It will be enought swap / (root) /boot
For raid there are options in kernel and manual how to do it.
