I just purchased a new PC with a 16 meg SIS630 agp card. I downloaded the SIS drivers and followed the setup procedure. I can start X but the screen only shows a potion of my desk top. If I move the mouse to the edge of the screen it scrolls the desktop arround asif I was looking in through a window.

Is there a tool for selecting the display rez and colour depth or did I just mess up the install?

Tried that. It actually makes things worse. Anybody else out there using an SIS630?

Same problem - really frustrating!! I have SiS 6326. If you solve the problem I'd appreciate if you could let me know how. My HorizSync is 31.5 and VertRefresh 60. I'm a bit worried about mucking about with these values - what are yours? Do you know effects of changing them?

I've messed with the vert and horizontal rates but in my experience it either works or it doesn't. I either get a black screen if I push it too far or I get the screen at low resolution. If I run Xconfigurator the situation is a little different - My card is not detected during the final test so I halt the program. When I start X the whole desk top is reduced to tiny size (maybe half 640/480 or less). It fills the screen but the resolution is terrible. The mouse doesn't track arround anymore so it's even less useable. The only advantage is that I don't feel sea sick any more!

Any other takers?
