problems with CDROM drive

OS: Mandrake 10.0
CPU/Ram: Athlon/256MB

I burnt downloaded files on my 'other' computer, Win98, onto a CDROM to transfer to my Linux box. Burning went OK, and I could see the files in Window explorer.

But the files were not visible on the Linux CDROM drive, but other files were. Directory structure was different too.

What has happened?
