monitor type=standard

linux = redhat 7.2
whenever i try to program in x for displaying a pic it says it can set upa 24 bit visual???
i have gone to the xf86config file aand configured my display depth to be 24 bits but it still doesnt work
can some one tell me how to run Xconfigurator???
whats the problem with my display adapter or monitor.
please help???
should i set my video memory to be 4Mb
can anyone tell me where to download athe drivers for my display adapter for linux-please not xfree86.org that site sucks and it really doesnt help
please help???

to run Xconfigurator simply type it in OR
run setup . Setup will allow to modify
several things. Don't worry when ya
run it, it doesn't run anything untill
you select a 'tool' to run. Mouse, services,
Xconfig, firewall, and a couple of others. You 24bit can solved (maybe) by ajusting
what you are telling you monitor. I have
10 monitors and Red Hat all.all don't
really like but one I have (with the crappy
2mg s3 card I have) After I put on my HPs50
everything was good and x would start. What's funny is that it would work fine on install and not after. But once I changed
to the HPs50 it works everytime.Hope it helps some anyway.
