Hi there! I just installed Red Hat 7.2 on my computer, and everything seems to work perfect, except for the modem. My Modem is a HSP56MICROMODEM, and after i configured the KPPP and supplied my internet account, and then start dailing the modem doesn't respond, and freeze my computer so i have to reboot. Is this a Driver problem?
Hi(forgive me for my bad eanglish), your modem is probably "soft"modem which means that he is for Windows OS. That is a reason why he freezes your computer(Soft or Wind modems uses some processor instruction so they can cause some damage if driver is not god). I had a same problem with my Agere Lucent modem and I try everything and at the end I bought a ConexantHCF modem (10$ :)). Perhaps your modem is not very popular so there is no god drivers for him. Don't give up. Cao.
