Comment:

I'm having problems with the restart option in linux mint 7. When I choose to restart, mint exits but leaves the PC powered on forcing me to do a hard reboot. Choosing to fully shut down works fine.

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks

Usually it is a bios/apm/acpi issue. Not sure you can usually fix it.
Might have to look at bios or update it (ONLY if the update addresses that issue and you are brave).
Might have to change power setting or plan in bios and re-install.

See also other posts on topic, use ubuntu forums as search term or mint.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10
