I do not know much about slack, but either you do not have permission to run slapt-get, or it has not been set as executable. Most software in /usr/sbin requires root access in many distributions. Try to su to root, then run it again. If that fails, as root try making it executable chmod +x /usr/sbin/slapt-get then try it one more time. HTH Ernie Registered Linux User 247790 ICQ 41060744

Hi ernie, Tks for your advice. I made a mistake taking the Slackware running on the box as 64bit $ arch i686 It is 32bit version Mistakenly installed 64bit slapt-get. I'll wipe out the OS and install slamd64-11.0 B.R. satimis

Swaret is usually found in the extras directory. Haven't had much of a problem with it or tried other slack package managers so I have nothing compare it to.
