Hi folks,

Ubuntu 7.04 desktop

On Terminal running;
$ sudo apt-file update

It just hangs there for prolonged time and then exits to command prompt.

Pls advise where shall I check? TIA

I use it;

$ sudo apt-file search dep
to find the package providing the dep.

Hi Sabertooth,

Tks for your advice.

I need to run;
$ sudo apt-file search dep

to find out which package provides the dep.

Actually I made a mistake that it was not hanging, just working but without output.

Is there equivalent on apt-get to find the package providing the dep? OR is there any other solutions?
