Hi folks,
Ubuntu 8.04 desktop i386
On running;
$ sudo find / -name vename
[sudo] password for satimis:
find: WARNING: Hard link count is wrong for /proc/fs: this may be a bug in your filesystem driver. Automatically turning on find's -noleaf option. Earlier results may have failed to include directories that should have been searched.
find: /home/satimis/.gvfs: Permission deniedPlease advise how to fix the problem. TIA

It has been around for a while.
I suspect this is the reason.
"Yes. Potentially we can read through the tid_base_stuff and
count the total number of directories at runtime whenever we
open a /proc/<pid> directory."
So the issue is how the /proc is reported in a degree of time. They didn't answer?
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread....Use noleaf option or don't find from /.
Don't worry about it, no need to check /proc anyway.
"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

Hi jefro,
Thanks for your advice. I got it.
Actually "find" is working only with the annoying warning displayed. With -noleaf up the warning disappears but following;find: /home/satimis/.gvfs: Permission denied
still there.
What is .gvfs for?$ ls -ld /home/satimis/.gvfs
dr-x------ 2 satimis satimis 0 2008-08-19 11:16 /home/satimis/.gvfs
Can I change its permission? Thanks
B.R.
