problem of RH 7.0

I 've just installed RH 7.0 but there's a problem. When it promtp to enter username and password to log in, the sreen flashed several times and reported : "According to /var/run/gdm.pid, gdm is already running, but have been murdered myteriously."
and it continued to flash the screen so I coundn't see anything, and I coundn't type too.
I tried to reinstall it, but it was the same problem. Althouh it worked correctly when I used RH 6.2
Please help me. how can I solve the problem ? thanks 4 reading !

My vdeo card is S3 Trio 64 CPU 166MHz (non-MMX) 64Mb Ram
..but with this computer I can run RH 6.2 correctly !

I struggled with the same problem. I made many posting and no help. Finally I reinstalled RH and during the install DID NOT check use graphical login. Once install was complete, booted Linux and ran XCONFIGURATOR and set up the graphical login. No problem since.

I have installed RH 7.0 I have sis6215 vga card so i am not able to run startx. From the xsis.rpm and xsuseconfig.tar.gz file i am not able to install xsis server. Because when i run rpm -i xsis.rpm then it will give the error like lib*.so file is missing for xsis-4.0.4. So pls let me know what could be the problem..
