Comment:

I've set up a printer on my server and tested it. Then I added the printer to a WinME box (via Samba) and that worked great.

I added it to my other linux machine and when I try to print the display on the printer says "Printing..." and nothing else happens.

I did a 'lpq' on the machine with the printer attached and got the following:

# lpq
Printer: hpOfficeJet_v40@localhost
Queue: 1 printable job
Server: pid 6439 active
Unspooler: pid 6440 active
Status: IF filter 'mf_wrapper' filter msg - 'foomatic-gswrapper: gs '-dBATCH' '-dSAFER' '-dQUIET' '-dNOPAUSE' '-sDEVICE=ijs' '-sIjsServer=hpijs' '-sDeviceManufacturer=HEWLETT-PACKARD' '-sDeviceModel=DESKJET 930' '-dDEVICEWIDTHPOINTS=612' '-dDEVICEHEIGHTPOINTS=792' '-sIjsParams=Quality:Quality=0,Quality:ColorMode=2,Quality:MediaType=0,Quality:PenSet=2' '-r300' '-dDuplex=false' '-dIjsUseOutputFD' '-sOutputFile=/dev/fd/3' '/dev/fd/0' 3>&1 1>&2' at 20:42:56.409
Rank Owner/ID Class Job Files Size Time
active root@localhost+597 A 597 /usr/share/printconf 58695 20:42:55

Does anyone know why I can't print from another linux box. Does anyone know what that lpq output means?(esp. the stuff after 'Status:')

Thanks for your time!
