Hi,
I have a printer on the LAN. I am using
linux 6.1. I have startoffice installed. I
want to print word , excel and other
documents. how to install a driver for the
printer and use it..

/usr/bin/printtool
(must be root)

It will give you a nice little gui to setup your printer.

Or you can edit your /etc/printcap file yourself. Then restart lpd. But printtool does all this for you.
