Hey,
I'm running Slackware 8 w/ kernel 2.4.10 and I don't have the slightest clue how to set up my printer. My printer is a Canon BJC-2000 and it worked fine in mandrake 6 but I guess Slack doesn't auto detect printers.
Anyways when I go to print nothing happens, no errors or nothing. Thanks

You know, I had the weirdest time figuring this one out using Slackware 7.2. It's not mentioned in ANY of the manuals (not even in the ones created by the creators of Slackware). Let me try to jog my memory:
1. Login as root.
2. Type: "apsfilter"
NOTE: If that doesn't work, type:
"cd /" (to go to the root directory)
And type:
find . -name "apsfilter" (this will search through the entire directory structure. it may take a few minutes)3. After the system is done searching, it will list any occurences of "apsfilter".
4. Note the directory path that it is installed in, and type:
(directory it is installed in)/apsfilter5. You should be at the menu to install your printer. Follow the onscreen prompts, and you should be gold!!
yuckmouth
