I have a box that is running Win 2000 Pro. I have set up and currently working a DSL line using swbell as my provider. I D/L Mandrake-Linux 7.2 ISO and installed it correctly. Is there a way that I can get my external DSL modem (Efficient Network Inc.) to access my isp? Or do I have to get the Enternet 300 linux log-on software from them (at a cost!!).I set up 7.2 to work as server because I have 4 other home puters on a lan and am trying to set up 7.2 to be a dedicated firewall/server for my home. The other systems are running Win 98,Win 98 SE,Win ME, Win 2000 pro server. I like diversity and experimenting, but sometimes I need a lot of help! If more info os needed let me know and I will provide it.
Thanx
George

Iguana,
Dont hate me, i work for a dsl provider, but try using any PPPOE software, not just the NTS (Enternet 300) software, a good place to check is www.carricksolutions.com, or for your linux applications http://www.carricksolutions.com/linuxpppoe.htm, you are not limited to the NTS software, but for trial (30 day) versions of the Enternet 300 software, check www.nts.com, on special applications we use the carrick solutions Raspppoe software for windows systems that will not accept the NTS software, it is a non intrusive software, and i have had no problems with it.
Hope this Helps.

Roaring penguin has a good pppoe software. I am running redhat 7.0. It came with the package I purchased. I had to get the dns numbers from SWbell in order for it to work. I saw a website describing exactly what you are doing. it is http://home.swbell.net/sdboyd56/dsl/connect2.html
This site was very helpful for me, I hope t works for you as well.
