Hey, I'm new to linux and i have a question. What media files used under Linux and how can i play them?
i've noticed i cannot play MP3 using the players came with Linux, but i guess i can do it somehow.

what distro of linux are you using? if you're using the latest versions of redhat/fedora/slackware, they dont come with mp3 support out of the box anymore. the older versions do but they removed it a while back. you need to download the package that adds it back. If you post back with your distro I can give you a link, or just google mp3 support and the name of your distro. Linux supports ogg vorbis files by default. I know fedora core has a tool to convert mp3 to ogg.
