Reply: (edit)The problem we have with dvd in linux is as much a legal one as it is a tec problem. Some of the componets that are required to decode dvds are possoble causes of legal battles (A shame that the law will stand in the way of science, but then I guess it allways has)So most dis will not give you a working dvd player...... For more info go to the link below........ and. Good luck!!!!!!! http://www.linuxjournal.com/article.php?sid=5644

Reply: (edit)Are you sure you're using the right software to play the DVDs? I typically use Ogle, but sometimes use mplayer; others swear by Xine. Markp1313 is right about there being legal issues, however, which isn't fair considering they give away the Windows software that comes with DVD drives. Regardless, be aware of this, as you may have to download the decoder software to play your DVDs, which may be illegal (ha) in your country. Good luck.
