[jolie@localhost SambaShare]$ ls -la
total 12
drwxrwxr-x 2 Samba Samba 4096 Jun 20 16:20 .
drwxr-xr-x 25 root root 4096 Jun 20 16:20 ..
[jolie@localhost SambaShare]$ groups jolie
jolie : jolie wheel hamachi Samba
[jolie@localhost SambaShare]$ mkdir test
mkdir: cannot create directory `test': Permission denied
[jolie@localhost SambaShare]$This is confusing to me
A directory SambaShare was created with permissions 775
I belong to the group Samba
yet I cannot do anything inside the directory?
What went wrong?

I have solved the problem. It turned out that it is a bad feature of Linux, that if you change the group settings when you are logged in, you need to log out and log in again to see the effect.
