pass alias args. w/ multiple cmds

i have an alias

alias v='<cmd1>;<cmd2>'

when arguments are passed to v (e.g. v arg1 arg2), I want it to be only applied to <cmd2> (e.g. <cmd2> arg1 arg2). How do I do this?
