Reply: (edit)If you want to keep your existing windoze install, you will have to use software that allows for resizing of partitions...I don't think plain old DOS fdisk does. If you want to wipe windoze off your PC completely and replace it with linux, you can set up all your partitions and format them during the installation procedure....just boot off the CD.

Reply: (edit)Use a program called PARTITION MAGIC. You can resize the hard drive and create a linux partition(ext 2 or ext 3). No need to wipe out Windows. Good luck.

Reply: (edit)People, the Mandrake Installation will "RESIZE and PARTITION" the hard drive for you. There's no need to blow $70 on a proprietary product like Partition Magic. Mandrake will also be happy to wipe out your entire Windows partition for you if you so desire. All the above options are presented to you during the installation. I've tried all of them in the past without a flaw.

Reply: (edit)Well, i did that too, but just to be on the safe side, it's better to use Partition Magic so that you won't have to go through all that.
