hi again,
i have 40GB hard disk and i have dual boot system at my home, first i installed linux and it's made a partion of total 30GB and remaining 10GB i have Win2k, now i wann that some size reduce from linux and sift to Win2k that's possible to do that romove the partion from linux and it's will come in Win2k.

hi girish,
Partition Magic should help solve the problem..
partition magic 8 is now available...
to be honest, I havn't used it but have heard many others (novices et al) use it to their satisfaction...

yes, I was just about to suggest partition magic. It is worth the money to buy it, it has lost of advantages to it compared to other ways of partitioning, and is genearlly easy to use. It has a coupld of draw backs. What you want it for though, it would be perfect for what you need.

Partition magic DOES NOT WORK in windows 2000, it won't even install. even the bootdisks won't work!!!
There are other partitioners, but I don't know if they support 2k.
If you don't mind reinstalling your computer, that's the way I would do it:
use ranish partition manager to delete all partitions, make a primary partition of 3 to 6 GB for windows 2000, then make swappartition of 300MB, then linuxpartition of 4GB, use the rest for extended fat32-partition! it can be read/written with both w2k and linux. first install windows, then linux.Johan

if your version of partition magic won't work in your ms os, find a computer with windows 98 and install it there. create the boot disks (two floppies needed in my version of partition magic) and uninstall partition magic. the two floppies are all you need. boot using the first floppy and the power is yours.

what did I tell you, the bootdisks don't work either! you might be lucky if you're using fat32 intead of ntfs, but I didn't get it to work in either cases...
