I have an old KX-P6100 and I want to use it as a printer on my Linux server to be used by windows workstations. In looking around the net, I see that this printer will not print under linux due to it being GDI. Is there a way of setting up the printer to print by using drivers on the w98 machines to push all the relevent data and the linux box to route it? (I hope im clear enuf!!)

It's probably possible to set up a samba printer share that actually prints to a shared samba printer on another machine. You need to dig deep into the samba docs. But why not let people access the shared printer on the win box directly?

The win box is not powered up 24/7. I was hoping to have one server (linux) that can do all and then users can log in and out at any time.
