Hello people I started using linux a month ago and when I installed opensuse 10.2 Distros I got shoked..................... opensuse 10.2 does not come with gcc I can't compile tar balls without gcc so I can't install gcc on my system.. I tried searching for pre-compiled version but since I am totally unexpierent with the results I got totally disappointed

gcc is not listed as available in Yast? IIRC, The Suse package manager is part of Yast. I do not use Suse, so I am unable to be of more help, but I would suggest you look around in Yast to see if you can find it.

In Fedora core 6, you can try loggin in as root on the terminal, then do "yum install gcc" I think it is the same on SUSE. I only know that I know nothing.
