Hi!
I'm having problems with download programs like eDonkey and WinMX. They both want some open ports (TCP and UDP). I am behind a router/server (not sure, I didn't set it up), and I want to open up those ports so WinMX and eDonkey can connect properly. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!

Hmmm...need to know if you are running ipchains, iptables or ipfwadm? To help you:
ipfwadm = kernel 2.0.x
ipchains = kernel 2.2.x
iptables = kernel 2.4.x

You'll need to find out/set which ports are used too.

I have iptables (2.4.9-31). How do I find out which ports are used? I'm sorry, but I don't know the first thing about Linux.

The only person who can help is the one who setup/admins the router/firewall that you are behind.

Sorry for taking me so long, but I have finally obtained the root's password. Does that help?
