Hi everybody,
I use KDE as my traditional desktop, however I don't use the kmail program for email. The problem I have is that KDE has all the file associations already (like to open a Word document use this program...blah blah), but my email client, I have to declare them in the mailcap file....
So to avoid that hassle, I wanted (thanks to the wonder of Open Source) to modify my email client to call the same function that KDE uses to open a file with the associated program.
I noticed that if I run:

konqueror anyfile.anyextension

Konqueror will open the correct application, however, it will also open a konqueror window :(
So this is kind of the result I want, but without opening the konqueror window. I just want to open the file with the associated program.
I don't know, I would think there would be some "kopenfile" or so to do that function.

So please let me know if you have any idea how to do this.
THANKS!!
