I am trying to compile opengl programs on my laptop. The laptop has Nvidia GeForce 2 Go 32mb video card. When i installed RedHat 8.0 i had to download the nvidia drivers source, from nvidia and compile them. The openGL programs i am trying to compile, compile fine on the computers in the Redhat 7.3 lab, which have Nvidia Geforce 2 Cards installed. I have installed the Glut and the XFree86-Mesa RPMS off the RedHat 8.0 disks onto my laptop. The installs said they completed successfully.
One thing we noticed is that the on my laptop the files gl.h and the glu.h files were not installed to the /usr/include/GL like on the other computers. When i try to compile, it returns errors saying it couldnt locate the gl.h and the glu.h files. We took the files off the computers in the lab and copied them over to my directory, now when i try to compile my code, it says cannot find lGL.
Does anyone have a solution about how to install openGL correctly with a Nvidia Geforce 2 Go video card?
Thanks Jonathan
