Are you sure drivers are the issue? Based on what little you posted regarding your specs (Compaq 5000, 700MHz Celeron), your system may not be up to gaming. Here's the requirements for Sabayon Linux 4...where does your system stand?

"In order to run Sabayon Linux 4 on your personal computer, make sure that you meet the minimum system requirements:

Intel Pentium Pro, Celeron, AMD K6-2, Pentium II or Athlon CPU
512 MB of RAM
16 GB of free hard disk space
Supported 2D video card
a DVD reader

However, the Sabayon Linux team recommends the following system requirements for an optimal performance:

Dual Core Processor (Intel Core 2 Duo or better, AMD Athlon 64 X2 or better)
1 GB of RAM
32 GB of free hard disk space
Supported 3D video card (Nvidia, AMD or Intel)
a DVD reader"

You system only meets the bare minimum to run the OS & you have a weak graphics card. A driver update can't fix that.

i have downloaded frets on fire and it meets the requirements and it runs slow . this is what i found maybe it will help . the opengl is set to xorg-11, the compfusion is not working, nvidia manager says its not using the nvidia driver, google earth says it cant detect video card or it needs to be updated, i have tried to set xgl and it turns black on boot up and i tried aiglx and it shows no borders around the windows. If i set the opengl to nvidia none of the games will open if i set it to xorg it will open. maybe this is enough info to help solve this problem. im not worried about the games on the DVD . I want to run the ones that meet my requirements . Im not sure if my config files are right for the nvidia card and i dont want to mess around with it not knowing how to do it.
