NT as Default OS in Linux boot menu

I like Linux, don't get me wrong, but as far as school goes, I really need windows as my default OS. I have Linux and Windows sharing a harddrive but Linux is the first OS to get initialized since it displays it's 'OS' boot menu first. NT is the last option in the menu and Linux gives me a whoping 3 seconds to pick which OS I want to boot with. My question: Is there some way to set the NT option as the default so that I have 3 seconds to boot with Linux instead of NT.
