Comment: Hey All! Third question in 30 minutes. Sorry. I am wondering, with Windows you can get the software Norton Ghost Server and pay big $$$. (I think that is what it is called). I know with almost every other server software there is a linux clone, is there a linux equivilant of this software? And does it also support imaging windows systems, such as XP? Thanks a bunch
David

Reply: (edit)Ghost 2003 and higher can handle the Linux Ext2 and Ext3 file systems. I use it at work all of the time. Where I work I write the images to DVD on an external DVD burner. Ghost Corperate edition allows for the establishment of an image server. I am not sure if this image server can be based on a Linux system. If you do not need the image server function Ghost 2003 can be had for under $50 on the internet if you spend the time to shop around.

Reply: (edit)Depending on your hardware you can set up diskless terminals which boot up using tftp and bootp to grab an image over the network....I am unfamiliar with ghost server but my guess is that it does a similar thing.
