Hi everyone,
I'm a lil' bit of a newbie, but I'm not stupid either. Been working with (should I even mention?) windows for years...
I have a PIII 933MHz, 512 MB RAM, hda1=6 GB (WinXP Pro), hda2=3.1 GB (Mandrake 8.1)
Do you need more?
The ES1938 or Audio-Drive ESS1969 card that is built into my motherboard does not work.
HardDrake see it, etc... but there's no MIDI settings to choose from... and the most obvious... no sound.
I've looked just about everywhere online for drivers... and the ESS Technologies people don't list Linux driver on their driver's page... even though they list it on their "contact us regarding" page... figures.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Kevin

I have the same problem with my ES1371 (PCI not built into mother board) and debian sees it and i can turn the volume up and down but I too have no sound... (and yes i have the volume all the way up along with the other settings)
Anyone know why?Thanks,
-Frank
