no sound in wine games

hi all, hope someone knows how to help me with this one
i am an intermediate user there are alot of things i understand and alot i dont. i am not very familiar with sound servers and settings
ok here is the problem when in kde i can play sounds with Xine and the regular system sounds work but when i start a game in winex3 there is no audio. I just want to get sound working in my games. any one else seen this problem?

here is what i did to fix it, hope it helps someone in the future.
in kde i clicked the redhat button (start button equivalant) prefrences control center sound and multi media hardware (tab) where it says "Select the audio device" i changed it to "advanced linux sound architecture" saved and applied my changes and it works now
