I do not use Fedora, generally speaking
if something is able to work under one distribution, it should be possible to make
it to work with another linux.

This is the webpage of the SuSE hardware database, check all your equipment out over there. If they don't know if something is supported or say it isn't; then it probably won't work right out of the box (except when your device uses a similar chipset as one which is listed as supported. You'll have to do some research to find out.):

http://cdb.suse.de/?LANG=en_UK

At

www.sourceforge.net

they do have several files available for the conexant adsl usb modem and looking from the status, I think it should be able to work. Go to the website, fill in conexant usb adsl in the left corner where you can search. You'll find I think 4 packages, you might need more than one. Just download them, and read the readme/install files which are included in the packages.
I cannot help you with this, since I've no experience with usb adsl devices. I even don't know if they can be catagorised as network cards/devices or not. People have made drivers for them, so more people are using them.

Send another support request to the manufacturer of the modem, as well try the webpage of the conextant chipmaker. It could be they do have drivers ready to use with installation instructions, I know realtek had a few years ago (and maybe still has).

GOOGLE is your friend!

You are not the luckiest person new to linux,
but IF you are able to tackle these problems,
then linux has less secrets for you than some people who start it up and where it justs keeps working from the beginning. Every advantage has it's disadvantage, just keep trying. Also there are more forums than computing.net It's out of my field of knowledge. I do know SuSE has great online support for people who buy their boxed version, which does come with a great manual.
I do not know how far they go in helping with unsupported hardware. But both your soundcard and modem should be able to work I think.

Good luck and don't give up yet.

Unfortuntaly, the spanish site does seem to have a little more info than the english alternative. It should work with these drivers (I think....)

You can try! at least they also have a forum over there (although it doesn't seem very busy).

Generally speaking I trust command line info more than kde/gnome or whatever other GUI.

If you have to compile files (by example
./configure & make & make install , are there errors generated?)
If you have to insert modules, are there errors generated, is the module loaded?
(you can check with lsmod).

I stop for the time being.

Found something in English in the above mentioned site; After "everything" is set up properly, than the following things should be done; does it give errors on your system? (At this stage I don't believe everything is set up properly; also do you have the development packages and kernel source included during installation? What I saw in a few seconds, you might need them for getting everything to work. Last four lines are VERY important...

- Running the driver:
Unplug the modem if it was connected.
Plug the modem.
To start driver type:
cxstart.sh
To stop driver type:
cxstop.sh
If your driver is running ok then you can it installs as service (go to /usr/cxacru directory and type make add_service then go to your service manager and start service cxacru or restart your computer).

Please, next time you must buy modems that they are running in Linux from manufacturer drivers (only this manner other manufacturers will build drivers for Linux).
