Hmm guyz....im new to Linux first I used RH 9.0 and the connection worked fine for me and i experienced real problems with my Sound Card. Now i installed SuSe 8.2 and my Sound Card is working fine but No Internet connection at all. This is really frustrating for some one who has hard lots of good about LINUX...and only experiecing probs with it. All the time. I would really appreciate if some one could help me out here...Coz i really wanted to make LINUX my first choice but when getting introed to a OS with lots of to experience with. I NEED THAT CONNECTION GOIN....i have to enter a static ip...i did i had to enter gateway...i did entered two nameservers......but still not working....i had similiar probs with RH first but when I let my ISP choose the Hostname it worked fine this was the prob at RH 9.0. BUt i cant do the same at SuSE coz otherwise I have to click on DHCP for all the settings and this doesnt work at all coz then the browser responst with: Unknown HOST! otherwise I have only a Connection timed out...but result is the same......both dont work!!! So plz need some experienced person who can HELP me out. THX! __________________
