I would like to use Linux on a Peer to Peer network of Win98 and XP pro computers (about 5 or 6 machines)
All the Linux box needs to do is serve files and maybe share a printer.
I simply need to share its HD (read and write)... password protected, if possible, and maybe share a printer on its parallel port.
Doing this with 98 or XP is no prob. However, if I use MANDRAKE, can I do the above in a similar manner (ie point and click, etc) or would it be a can-o-worms?

Not really just point and click, but still pretty easy. Use samba, it works great. Get it from samba.org. For help, go with the smb-howto, or wait, there is a point and click interface, swat. I think it comes in the samba package.
